Eco-grazing
Ewes on an sensitive natural areas, property of the Conservatoire du Littoral
Each autumn, since 2018, le Parc de l’Estuaire is in charge of a project in partnership with the municipalities of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne and le Conservatoire du littoral on the management of a sensitive natural areas by eco-grazing.
The first project has been organized the 20 september 2018 with the students of the college of the Petit Chadignac to install fences gives by the Département. This project has been supported by all our partners, strongely supported by the technics team and mangement of the sensitives naturals areas.
This first experience has been done with Baudets du Poitou from the Asinerie du Baudet du Poitou until 2019. In 2020 and 2021, it was sheeps from the ferme de La Grange (Meschers-sur-Gironde)and for 2022-2023, it was ewes from l’Agneau d’Oléron.
This project has two advantages : an ecological management of a natural place and to valorise local farm. Volunteers can participate at this action : animal control, installing the fences… an original way to contribute at the protection of this biodiversity !
