Le Domaine de Suzac, a natural protected area between estuary and ocean
walking guid
Le Conservatoire du Littoral in partnership with the Department and the municipalities of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne et Meschers-sur-Gironde, conduct since 1982 a acquisition’s politics in the pre-emption zone of sensitive natural areas.
Almost half of the forest of suzac (140 ha en 2022) is protected and 100 constructions have been deconstructed. As part of the implemantation of the forestry regime, the National Office of Forests intervenes in the management of afforestation.
